Equipped with durable steel disc inserts and a slightly raised rubber lip, the plates can be loaded onto the barbell without direct metal-to-metal contact. The 50.5 mm collar opening ensures a secure fit on the bar and prevents the plates from sliding. Their compact construction results in a minimal bounce effect, making them ideal for high-rep Olympic lifting. Featuring the traditional IWF-standard color coding and a uniform 450 mm diameter for quick identification and easy handling, Strength Shop’s Competition Bumper Plates are built for both competition and serious training.

To protect quality during shipping, our bumper plates are coated with a silicone-based protective film, packed in plastic wrap, and boxed. This may result in a strong rubber smell upon unpacking, which will dissipate over time with regular use. In a well-ventilated gym space, the smell should fade within a few days. To speed up the process, you can clean the plates with water and soap, wipe them down with a cloth, and let them air out.
