Product Functionality: This Portable Suspension Type IT Gun Spot Welder can be also used as a stationary Spot Welder with the included mountable Gun Station. The mountable station is constructed with a heavy weight stabilized stand and also incorporates the pneumatic and electronic controls in a space optimized form factor. These IT Guns are designed for extraordinary versatility and are available with different styles of welding guns. These air-operated guns are designed for high-speed production to meet the needs of a vast number of metal fabrication shops, particularly for the manufacture of automobile bodies and sub-assemblies.

Users Include:   Spot welding, electro-brazing, cross wire welding,etc. The machines are also capable of welding stainless steel, brass, phosphor, bronze, alloy steels, etc. Specific details can be had on request.

Following are the available Gun Type Options:

Option 1 : C-Type Welding Gun

In the case of resistance spot welding, there are two main parts of the tooling system, the features of which fundamentally influence the whole process: the gun and its type, and the size and shape of the electrode. In such application, where the gun layout should be as rigid as possible due to the high applying forces (e.g. welding of thick materials), the C-type gun is widely used. As well as the high resulting rigidity, this arrangement leads to a high tooling flexibility, as the motion of the electrodes is collinear.Many basic types of guns are available, the two most commonly used being the direct acting type, generally known as a "C"-type gun, where the operating cylinder is connected directly to the moving electrode, and the "X"-type (also known as "Scissors" or "Pinch") where the operating cylinder is remote from the moving electrode, the force being applied to it by means of a lever arm. C guns are generally the most commonly used. There are many variations available with regard to the transformer rating, shape and style of the arms, and also the duty for which the gun is designed with reference to welding pressure and current.

Option 2 : X-Type Welding Gun

Unlike the C-type, the X-type arrangement provides less rigidity, although the reachable workspace is far larger than with the C-type, thus this layout is very common, where thin and flat objects are being processed (e.g. manufacturing of floor pan or roof panel). However, it offers less flexibility in terms of tooling, because the paths of the moving electrodes are not collinear (like the tips of a scissor), so a dome-shaped electrode tip should be used.

Construction : The portable spot gun is designed with an air cooled integrated transformer. Ruggedly fabricated with streamlined appearance, suitably stiffened at points of stress. The transformer is mounted directly on to the body and the bearings for the arm are provided in the same.

Current Control: Current control by Heat Shift Method-Thyristorised.

Weld Initiation: Weld Initiation in pneumatic welders by Hand Operated/Foot Operated Limit Switch.

Note: * Maximum material welding thicknesses are always estimates. Variables such as Electrode Throat Depth, Electrode Throat Clearance, tooling, shunt or cable length, welder distance from primary, and other compounding variables can positively or negatively affect this number.
