Brownell McGrew is well-known for his large paintings with brilliant color and are in collections such as the Gilcrease Museum, Cowboy Artists of America, the Eiteljorg Museum, and many private collections. The Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona has thousands of his photographs and his extensive journals on his trips to the Navajo and Hopi reservations. McGrew's personal pencil sketches remained with his personal papers and family collections. A portion from the purchase of this will be donated to Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program. There are nearly 700 Navajo Elders ages 75 to 100 enrolled as adopted Elders in the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program.
