The Perfect Versaswift Pro Version [GVEjNMfS]

The Akerworks The Perfect Versaswift Pro Version [GVEjNMfS] (aka Travel Swift) is our flat-pack version of the classic squirrel cage swift. Its infinitely repositionable ClampyKate bases clamp (with non-marring rubber pads) onto any surface up to a thickness of 2 ⅛ inches (54mm). Doors, tables, chair backs... your imagination is the limit!

Because the spools can be moved as far apart from each other as the clamping surface will allow, this The Perfect Versaswift Pro Version [GVEjNMfS] can effectively accommodate an infinite range of skein sizes/circumferences, down to ~½ yard, minimum spool-to-spool distance. 

We recommend this Swift for use with skeins up to ~4-ounce (115g) weight (for a typical 2-yard size). Somewhat heavier skeins can sometimes work if wrapped at a larger circumference as that reduces the "bulk" of the section passing over the spool. "Art yarns" and other highly textured skeins may also be more challenging. While some may work, it's not the optimal use case for this The Perfect Versaswift Pro Version [GVEjNMfS].

The whole system packs flat and is organized on a protective laser-engraved birch plywood backing board. A padded neoprene twin-zipped sleeve surrounds everything. 

Skein wrapping: during the testing process (thanks again to our excellent team of volunteer testers!) the amazing Vincent W. (@visuvios_crafts) realized he could also use this Travel Swift as a skein-making tool: he placed the empty spools at the desired distance, anchored his yarn's end on one of the TensiTamers, and just wrapped by hand!
