Whitmore's Way Oils are premium quality lubricants designed for machine tool ways, wire ropes, chains, and similar applications where tacky oils are required. They are specially formulated to excel where water wash-off is a problem.

Whitmore's Way Oils contain extreme pressure (EP) additives to provide maximum wear protection. These additives serve to protect metal surfaces when heavy loads are encountered. It also enables Whitmore's Way Oils to lubricate equipment where a single oil lubricates both ways and gears.

Special lubricity additives give Whitmore's Way Oils a low coefficient of friction. This makes Whitmore's Way Oils extra slippery to eliminate machine tool way chattering and stick-slip. The result is smoother, more accurate machining, improved tool operation and reduced rejects.

Whitmore's Way Oils contain other specialized additives. A tackiness additive keeps them from running off while the unit is operating or squeezing out from between surfaces when the equipment is idle. This provides extra protection at start-up while reducing lubricant consumption and mess. It also serves to reduce sling-off, making Whitmore's Way Oils ideal for roller chains.

Another feature of Whitmore's Way Oils is their outstanding water resistance. They resist water wash and readily separate from water when contaminated. In addition, Whitmore's Way Oils provide excellent rust and corrosion protection.

APPLICATIONS:

Whitmore's Way Oils are recommended for machine tool ways and slides, chains, wire ropes, bearings, gears and other applications where a tacky oil is beneficial.

They are available in two grades. The 68 grade is approximately equivalent to an SAE 20 motor oil. The 220 grade is heavier, the exact equivalent to an SAE 50 motor oil, or an SAE 90 gear oil.

Use the 68 grade on horizontal ways, and the 220 on vertical.

Whitmore's Way Oils can be applied both manually or automatically. They are compatible with the seals and materials used in most automatic lubrication systems. Their outstanding flow characteristics make them suitable for gravity-type applicators.

Whitmore's Way Oils are fully approved by Cincinnati Milacron under Specifications P-47 (ISO 68) and P-50 (ISO 220).
