The Tree-Saver Belt will not harm the bark of the tree as cables or chains do. Be mindful that if you use a cable or chain to anchor the Lewis Winch to a tree, they will cut into the tree bark and that may cause the tree to die.

The Lewis Winch Tree-Saver Belt is a wide strap that distributes the load over a larger surface and because it's made of a soft material, it doesn't penetrate the bark and does no harm to the tree at all. The Lewis Winch Tree-Saver Belt also doubles as an anchor strap.
