You could argue that without Robinot, Golden Age Wine wouldn’t exist. Sure, there would be wine bars without Robinot, but wine shops and bars like ours that focus on natural and low-intervention wines can draw a line to Jean-Pierre’s bistrot L’Ange Vin in Paris. Robinot first tasted Marcel Lapierre’s Beaujolais vinified without sulfur or added yeast and decided to focus on Natural wines with the publication Le Rouge et Le Blanc... Years later, when the iconic L’Ange Vin opened in Paris, Robinot created a place where the natural wines of France could be shared, as well as the stories of the winemakers making wine.

According to Robinot, there were only a handful of natural winemakers in the mid- 80’s -  Métras, Thevenet, Breton, Foillard, Pierre Overnoy, Dard and Ribot, and Philippe Laurent at Domaine Gramenon. After a successful career in magazines and his Bistro, Robinot began making wine himself, following in the methods of the aforementioned winemakers and Jacques Néauport who vinified for several of the first natural winemakers.
