The Alpine HDZ-653 3-Way speaker set with a high-resolution bandwidth of 55Hz – 40kHz includes a 170mm door woofer, 96mm mid-range, and 70mm ring-radiator tweeter with 25mm voice coil. They also include high-end speaker x-overs.

All speaker cones are made from the same Carbon Composite material to create a unified timbre identity during playback. They get very close to the AlpineF#1Status speakers look and feel, using a very similar constructing and motor assembly, as well as the identical build-materials for highest sound quality.

Audiophile 3-Way Speaker System

Drawing from AlpineF#1Status trickle-down technology and materials, these Hi-Res Audio certified speakers deliver highest audiophile sound quality up to 40kHz in your vehicle. The 3-way system consists of 170mm door woofers, 96mm mid-range speakers and 70mm ring-radiator tweeters with 25mm voice coil. They also include high-end X-over networks in the set.

Carbon Fiber Cones

All speakers in this set (as well as the HDZ-110 Alpine Status subwoofer) use backed carbon composite cones to achieve a fully unified timbre identity – resulting in excellent harmonics. Carbon is very lightweight and stiff, resulting in high dynamics and low distortion. Backed carbon composite technology is also used in race-car monocoques for its light weight and high crash resistance.

Double-Gathered Edge

Yet another trickle-down technology from the AlpineF#1Status speakers: the double-gathered edge allows maximum cone excursion with excellent cone control and stability. This reduces sound distortion caused by cone wobble at higher volume levels.

High-End Ring-Radiator Tweeter

The included 70mm Hi-res Audio ring-radiator tweeters sound simply amazing and play up to 40kHz. They feature a 25mm carbon fiber diaphragm that is tuned to perfectly harmonize with the mid-range speaker and woofer to achieve a fully unified timbre identity. They also include an integrated wave-guide, tuned-back chamber and a powerful neodymium magnet.

Audiophile Speaker X-Overs

The included 3-way x-over networks feature hand-selected, high-end components and offer many adjustment possibilities: you can adjust the mid-range level from 0dB to -3dB, the tweeter level from +3dB, 0dB or -3dB and you can set the woofer X-Over to either 12dB/oct or 6dB/oct. The smoked acrylic cover bearing the Alpine logo can be slid-out to the front to gain access to the screw-terminals and jumpers.

Slim-Fit Tweeter Version

If you are planning a stealthy speaker installation or simply have no space for a 7cm tweeter, there is also a Slim-Fit version of this 3-way system. It is called HDZ-653S and includes the same woofers, mid-range and network, however the included tweeter is 44mm in diameter and has a much more shallow installation depth. This makes it very easy to be installed in original tweeter locations.
