Handmade in Germany, Continental's Grand Prix 5000 is a durable, high-performing all-rounder road tire featuring even better versions of Black Chili tread compound and tear-resistant Vectran Breaker, as well as two new technologies: Lazer Grip and Active Comfort Technology (ACT).

Vectran Breaker is spun from liquid crystal-polymer to create a multiple-thread thermoplastic yarn. This partially crystalline fabric is more cut-resistant than aramid and its tensile strength is five times higher than that of steel. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and effective against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker, without affecting rolling resistance.

Lazer Grip delivers more cornering traction from day one requiring no break-in time thanks to its micro profile structure (ie: tiny laser-drilled holes) that reach over the shoulder of the tire.

Integrated into the three ply 330tpi casing, ACT provides stiffness in the sidewall and flexibility under the tread for greater vibration dampening and excellent ride comfort.

Available with a cream-colored sidewall, transparent (dark brown) sidewall or all black.
