Multi-purpose Dingley Fly Reel 3 3/8" - Perfect Style - Lhw Westley Richards! Tool [NOjwadvt]

For sale here is an extremely scarce left-hand wind Dingley 3 3/8" Perfect style fly reel, retailed by gunmaker Westley Richards and Co. Ltd. Birmingham. The reel is in excellent original condition and features a strong dual pawl check system from the 1930's. Tension knob works perfectly. Bronze line guide is in fine condition. Gear teeth and pawls are still very sharp. The original, un-filed and full length smooth brass reel foot with two original screws is included with the sale, but the prior owner had a new smooth brass reel foot fabricated by Bill Archuleta so that the reel is now able to fit any rod's reel seat hardware. Both reel feet are included. Crazed xylonite handle spins freely. Very nice and original nickel silver spool screw and washer. The reel has no excessive end play. No cracks/chips or prior repairs. Majority of original leading remaining. The reel is stamped "3" in multiple places as well D3 near the LHW configured check.

Included with this sale is a Hardy Bros. selvyt reel bag in good condition that houses the reel perfectly.
