The WoodRiver® 180-Grit CBN Grinding Wheel - 6" x 3/4" for Grinders with a 1/2" Arbor is used for grinding steel of all kinds and enjoys a distinct advantage over a traditional Aluminum Oxide (AO) grinding wheel. The CBN coating is tough, will never load up or require dressing, and wheel balance isn’t an issue because the wheel is machined from a steel plate. The CBN coating covers the wheel from edge to edge, as well as for a short distance down the face. The coating works with the steel to keep heat at bay and overheating or burning a tool is much less likely. There is no danger of the wheel breaking or fragmenting during use and while this is certainly an added safety feature, we recommend the wheel be used with all guards in place.
