Gerstner has been making a top opening, seven drawer ‘41 series’ chest since 1918. Hardwoods naturally retain some moisture and can expand and contract slightly with seasonal temperatures – the Gerstner craftsmen have taken this into consideration and all parts are fitted accordingly to allow for this natural occurrence while taking into account regional & seasonal differences that may affect this process as well. The top compartment and all seven drawers are felt lined to provide extra protection for your possessions. The front panel is fitted with a sliding hinge so that it may be stowed beneath the bottom drawer on the open position. In the closed position, the front panel covers the drawers and can be locked to provide total security. When paired with the CB42B Classic Base, you can increase your overall storage capacity without taking up much more surface workspace (base sold separately). Chest comes with 2 keys.American Cherry has a light to medium fruitwood stain. Ours is a very unique color and does not match what people usually perceive to be a "cherry" furniture color. We only use cherry that is plain sawn, which is very stable and produces a wonderful flowing, curvy grain pattern. Cherry has small imperfections known as "pitting" that occurs naturally. At Gerstner these imperfections are kept to a minimum, but they sometimes can appear as very small knots, or a series of darker swirls and spots. Our American Cherry stain is light enough to highlight and accentuate the unique grain pattern. Smaller pieces of cherry will not show the flowing pattern as well as larger pieces. Your new cherry chest will darken over time.Every Gerstner USA built chest has a hand rubbed lacquer finish. All chests go through 3 final finishing stages. At each stage the lacquer finish is hand rubbed to give a lasting beauty and protection to the selected hardwoods. Cherry chests have a hand applied stain to insure an even finish.Dimensions are listed in order from top drawer down.

If you have a return issue, contact Woodcraft Supply customer service @ 1-800-535-4482 for return details. Item must be shipped back to Gerstner with a Returns Authorization number. All returns will be charged minimum of 20% restock fee and must be in original carton with all packing and padding. Customer will pay all return ship costs. If purchased at a Woodcraft Store, please return the item directly to the store where your purchase was made.

Our 1-year warranty on Gerstner (USA built only) parts and workmanship has not changed since 1906. We stand behind the products we build, so if your product needs warranty work during this time we are happy to provide warranty work under the following conditions:
Call Gerstner to receive a return authorization number, you will need to provide this return number on the address label. Items returned without prior authorization will not be processed. At this time we will also tell you the return shipping and processing fee to be enclosed with your chest. Items arriving without correct payment will not be processed until payment is received. (We are happy to provide warranty work at no charge, but we do not pay shipping charges.)
Return the product prepaid shipping and please insure for the current list price (We will tell you the insurance amount when you call for your return authorization number). If your item is broken during return shipment, you will need to file a claim with the carrier to recover the cost of your item. We cannot provide warranty work or replacements for items broken during shipment to the factory.
Enclose a detailed description of the part or parts you believe to be defective as well as a daytime phone number, so we may contact you with any questions. Items arriving with no paperwork indicating the warranty issue will not be processed until such paperwork is received.
We will (at our discretion) either repair the chest you send in, or replace it with a new one.
