Taylor has a long history of introducing new and sustainable tonewoods to the guitar industry, and this is its latest development that's being introduced in the 500 Series. Sourced in Southern California, the guitar uses 'Urban Ironbark' for the back and sides with a torrefied sitka spruce top and V-Class bracing.

What does Urban Ironbark sound like? Imagine the depth and richness of Indian rosewood pushed up to a new level. The Ironbarks hardness and density comparable to ebony, and with the torrified spruce top the 512ce creates a sound that's loud and muscular with a piano-like definition!

In a nod to the classic heritage of Taylor’s 500 Series, the new appointment package preserves a traditional aesthetic, updated with subtle decorative touches to complement the new wood pairing. The back and sides feature a stain that deepens ironbark’s natural reddish and golden-brown hues. The body and neck also feature a lightly shaded edgeburst, with a gloss-finish body and satin-finish neck.
