This is a top of the line acoustic guitar designed to be a professional level instrument for players of all types. The FS9 R is built with an Adirondack spruce top paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a unique 1-piece bolt-on mahogany neck, and an ebony fretboard. The guitar has subtle yet meaningful Japanese aesthetics that pay tribute to Yamahas history and heritage. The fretboard inlays are Kumiki (Japanese wooden puzzle) inspired bars of lightly colored wood, with a Japanese tied rope soundhole rosette and matching top inlay bordering the spruce. A washi paper interior label is seen on the inside of the body, and there's a matching washi paper certificate of authenticity included with each FS9.
