Description

T Sportline’s Tesla Model S Track Package is a specific wheel and tire package designed to give you maximum cornering, acceleration, and braking tire grip, along with high-speed stability for the best racing course or lap times. This kit will allow you to spare and preserve your daily use wheel and tire setup, keeping the wear and tear on your ‘racing wheels and tires’, while dramatically improving your racing performance at the same time. This setup is performance optimized for enthusiast-based autocross, x-cross, time-attack, SCCA events, road courses, road racing, short track, and circle track racing. 

Wheels

We have specified the lightest weight flow forged wheel we offer, TS5, measuring 20” x 10” and weighing 29.8lbs (Versus factory wheels: 19” Model S Cardenio Aero wheels weigh 27.15lbs (front) / 28.75lbs (rear), 21” Model S Arachnid wheels weigh 32lbs (front) / 35lbs (rear)).  This package uses squared setup (same wheel front and rear) TS5 flow forged wheels to balance value and performance. Since the T Sportline racing package wheels are all the same 20” x 10” size they can easily be rotated to balance wear from racing.  The T Sportline flow forged wheels are TUV certified, ensuring proper structural integrity required for racing duty.  If you prefer a fully forged or custom spec wheel or tire setup, call us directly to special order (310) 880-3256. 

Tires

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are 285/35/20 (27.9” diameter), measuring and acceleration optimal slightly shorter than Tesla’s factory tires (28.0” diameter)

The Pilot Sport Cup 2 is Michelin's (DOT compliant) street-friendly track and competition tire originally developd for use on the supercars such as the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Porsche 918 Spyder, and Mercedes SLS AMG. Designed around enabling maximum performance and quickest lap tops, the Pilot Sport Cup 2 radial utilizes Michelin's Bi-Compound technology into an asymmetric design. The treads inboard and outboard sections utilize different compound rubbers for optimal performance. The oversized outboard shoulders claim a tread rubber whose hardness was selected to deliver the best adherence and dry grip around turns and tight apexes. The notched center ribs and an inboard shoulder use a rigid elastomer tread rubber to deliver precision steering. Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires include Variable Contact Patch 3.0, an innovation which maximizes the contact patch size and optimizes its contact pressure so that more rubber remains in contact with the track when cornering to ensure superior grip in tight corners and curves.

Structurally, the tires feature twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound Twaron cord
(a polyamide cord that offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts) to enhance high-speed stability, durability, handling and wear. Finally, the
Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires features a polyester casing that combines comfort and handling. The bead region is 10% wider than that of traditional sports tires and is strengthened with a high modulus rubber compound that increases the tire's lateral stiffness and delivers precise steering and responsiveness.

The T Sportline Michelin measures 12% wider (11.2” wide), versus factory front tire width of only 10” on the 19” Aero wheels, or 7.7% wider versus factory front tire width of only 10.4” on the 21” Arachnid wheels, further increasing tire grip for racing. The package is fully DOT compliant (street legal) and load rating compliant (95Y vs factory 92Y), allowing the convenience of installation at home and suitable for drives to and from the racing event in warm and dry weather (for long distance travel to racing events or during wet conditions, we recommend swapping this package on at the track).

Usage recommendations for peak performance:

• Operating Temperature: 160°F to 220°F
• Cold Inflation Pressure: 45 (psi)

The tires are not intended to be driven in sub-40F temperatures, nor through snow or on ice. The tires should always be stored indoors at temperatures maintained above 15F.

Hardware

As with all T Sportline wheel & tire packages, the assembly bolts on without modification, re-using original factory lug nuts and accepts factory center caps. However, as a cost savings, TPMS sensors are not included with the base package, since tire pressure is manually monitored in racing scenarios. For an optional additional charge, Tesla TPMS sensors can be added.

Do your TS5 wheels fit my factory center caps?
Yes, 20x10" TS5 wheels fit your factory Tesla center caps. They also fit your factory TPMS and your factory lug nuts. In other words, there's no need to use any aftermarket hardware. 

Are the TS5 wheels forged or cast?
They are Flow Forged. The 20" TS5 wheels are manufactured in a Flow Forged process. They have been tested to the JWL, VIA, SAE J2530 & TÜV standard.

Do I need to change the color of my existing lug nuts and center caps to match to my new TS5 wheels?
That's an aesthetic decision only you can make. All TS5 Wheels come with T Sportline color-matched center caps. For those who purchase Satin Gray, Satin Black, or Gloss Black finish, we recommend purchasing our Lug Nut Cap Covers in Black for a stealth appearance.

How long until my TS5 wheels arrive after my order?
We process orders within 72 hours (unless your wheels are back-ordered). Please allow for 1-7 business days transit time from the day you receive a tracking number. We will email you if your wheels are back-ordered.

Will installing your Wheel & Tire Package void my warranty?

Changing wheels and tires won't void your Tesla warranty unless Tesla can prove that our wheels caused the need for repairs. Also, we use factory-size tires only. In other words, your warranty will still be valid when your windshield wiper malfunctions, even if you've upgraded to our Wheel & Tire Package.
