Adding more safety features is always a great idea. If you have ever been hesitant to back up your truck in low visibility situations, then you need the Diode Dynamics HitchMount LED Pod Reverse Kit. It provides a high-powered SSC1 LED pod that shines from your factory trailer hitch. Not only can you utilize it as a reverse light, but also as an additional running light. Rather than having to find a clever way to hook this light up to your truck's power, this kit comes with a wiring harness that connects directly to your factory trailer hitch wiring. It is completely plug-and-play with all 7-pin trailer connectors. If you do not have a 7-pin, it will still work with a few modifications to the harness. Patented Total Internal Reflection (TIR) Optic

The Diode Dynamics HitchMount LED Pod Reverse Kit features the patented TIR optic with the high-powered SSC1 LED pod that supports your tail lights in providing much more light output when reversing your truck. The SSC1 LED pod is significantly brighter than your stock halogen bulbs and shines in a Flood beam pattern. This pattern uses pillow optics on the outer lens surface to provide the most wide spread and even illumination. Other flood lights would provide a diffused spotlight when the light shines from the outer lens. The custom-engineered TIR optic is able to collect all of this light and distribute it most efficiently, while reducing glare. It works as both the optic and main lens to provide this efficiency and maximize total light output. Other inferior lights with a traditional optic would lose as much as 10% of light output when shining through the outer lens. Beyond its premium performance, this light is built durably for the long haul. Each one is extensively tested for long-term operation from -40 to 185 degrees F, along with vibration, moisture intrusion, and corrosion testing. It meets all the same SAE standards as factory components. When completing installation, the process should take no more than 5 minutes. There is no need for any drilling, a hatch pin, or custom wiring. All it takes is inserting the HitchMount into your trailer hitch receiver and the snap-fit side mounts will snap into place. If you eventually want to remove it, just unplug the harness, press the snap-fit pins, and remove the mount.

Fitment Notes: Newer trucks with trailer management systems monitor the power draw on the trailer connector in order to automatically modify vehicle settings when a trailer is connected. Depending on the year and make of your vehicle, the HitchMount LED may interact with this system if equipped.

• Ford: No trailer is detected, no warning messages.
• GM/Chevy: This product is NOT compatible with 2020+ trucks.
• Ram: Trailer management system may detect trailer - testing in progress.

Other Important Notes: If you would like to use a locking trailer pin to install this kit instead of the snap-fit pins, you can do so with a quick modification. This product is not intended to replace original factory tail lamps. Please ensure your trailer hitch has an open back before ordering.
