Classification: Pallasite
History: Purportedly found in 2019 about 20 kilometers west of Aousserd, southern Morocco at 22.607°N, 14.508°W, and purchased in September 2020 from the finder by Juan Avilés Poblador on behalf of UAlic.
Physical characteristics: A single specimen (427 g) with a rusty brown, jagged exterior but fresh interior dominated by metal and yellow-brown olivine.
Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Composed predominantly of subequal amounts of olivine (grainsize up to 1.2 cm) and fresh metal (kamacite plus taenite) with minor accessory chromite.
Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa13.2-13.4, FeO/MnO = 37-40, N = 4), kamacite (Ni = 6.8 wt.%), taenite (Ni = 15.0 wt.%, 38.6 wt.%, N = 2).
Classification: Pallasite.
Specimens: 30 g in the form of a polished slice at UWB; remainder in the collection of UAlic.
