Dad Approved 1938 Parker Burgundy Pearl Standard Vacumatic Fountain Pen Restored Set [xwhW2NJ9]

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 1938 Parker Burgundy Pearl Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Three Ring Cap Banding, and 14K two-tone NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel has excellent transparency with a person easily seeing through the barrel, albeit with mild ambering. The cap has the Gold Filled Clip that displays some very minor wear at the edges of the clip. The triple ring cap bands displaying a wonderful bright gold filled color with no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are striped to match the cap, barrel, and section which have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped with a clear imprint that reads, "MADE IN CANADA PARKER VACUMATIC PAT NO. 318982 with an 8 date code (for 1938) in the 2nd quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Standard Size Model that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.

The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water in about 11 to 15 presses and it will roughly fill full. This Parker Vac 1st Generation Fountain Pen has the lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacs. This filling unit has been greased and now operates smoothly and works as it was originally designed to.

This Canadain Vacumatic has a replacement 14K Two-Tone U.S.A. Parker NIB with a fine point measuring roughly .56mm when measured with digital calipers. The NIB is the split arrow two-tone 14K that is in very good condition with some minor platinum overlay plating loss - the platinum overlay loss does not affect the writing of the nib, it is only cosmetic. This NIB creates a smooth writing experience. The writing sample provided in the image has a medium stroke that measures .63mm and can flex to roughly .89mm with medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This is a lovely vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Burgundy Pearl Celluloid that has all the "high-line" features; 3-Ring Cap Banding, 2-Tone NIB, Striped Section, Striped top and bottom Jewels with excellent transparency. I would grade it in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. The celluloid burgundy pearl color is gorgeous and displays very well. This is truly gorgeous Parker Vac from the 1st Generation and ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
