For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1943 Eversharp "Command Performance" Skyline Fountain Pen & Pencil Set in solid 14K Solid Gold. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition. The condition of this set is exceptional with no scratching, dings/dents, or repairs.

NOTE: Command Performance is the name Eversharp gave to the all 14K gold fountain pen and pencil set. 

This Skyline has the 14K Solid Gold Eversharp Double Checkmark Clip, Cap, Derby, Barrel, and 14K NIB. This Eversharp Skyline is a Standard size that measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 5 7/8" posted. The Skyline Pencil measures 5 1/4" inches in length.

NOTE: If you were to just take the gold weight of both the fountain pen and pencil, you have 25.7 grams or nearly $945 of melt value with gold trading at $1961.48 on July 28, 2023.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The 14K solid gold cap and barrel are excellent showing no dings or dents. The cap is clearly stamped with, "EVERSHARP SKYLINE PAT. MADE IN U.S.A. 14 KARAT GOLD", with the front of the clip displaying, "EVERSHARP". The barrel is stamped with, "14K SOLID GOLD". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

The pencil is also marked, "EVERSHARP SKYLINE PAT. MADE IN U.S.A. 14 KARAT GOLD".

The Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen Filling System is a lever filler. I added a new rubber sac to this fountain pen. I have tested it with water and fills like it was intended to when manufactured.

The Eversharp NIB is 14K gold with the actual iridium tip/writing portion of the nib having a medium point measuring roughly .66mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a medium to double stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .71mm with very light pressure, and the double broad stroke measures 1.69mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue-Black Ink. The nib on this fountain pen writes with a smooth, flexible, wet line. 

The pencil is a "click-activated" type by pressing the dome down. The lead will repel out the nose cone as it should. The eraser is still securely intact as well.

This is an Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen & Pencil set that displays a spectacular Art Deco design in the scarce smooth solid 14K solid gold. I grade this Eversharp Skyline Fountain Pen in Excellent+ to Near Mint condition should be a cherished prize for the Eversharp Skyline collector.
