Images (.tiff) supplied as 4/c were first converted to grayscale files that were then graduated for high-density sheet-fed spot color printing. Tonally adjusted grayscales were then converted to tritone files to be printed in Pantone Cool Gray, Process and Pantone Blacks. Finally printing on Komori 6/c presses to Finch Opaque stock utilizing custom calibrated 300 line screen plating.

The binding method used was Case Binding Layflat. The “Case” being the hardcover itself and “lay-flat” being the binding method used to bind the text pages.

Layflat binding, a method also referred to in England as K-binding, is a technique used where the entire text pages are glued together after they are scored and folded so that the book can lay completely flat. The book was then final trimmed and attached to the hardcover.

Unlike common case bound books, which are usually created with Smyth Sewn-in signatures, the thick page construction of a Layflat book makes it not only lay flat but durable and withstand wear and tear.
