About the Leather: Buttero is an exquisite vegetable tanned leather from Conceria Walpier, founded in Tuscany in 1974. It's characterized by a smooth grain with deep, rich colors. It's thicker than most vegetable-tanned leathers and has a high oil content, making it more durable and resistant to scratching and fading. 

The "box" signifies the milling process it undergoes to achieve a softer feel and more textured finish. Bonus: it's the perfect shade of Leica Red!
