The Black Madonna  of Montserrat is the focal point of this double sided medallion that features Saint Benedict on the reverse.  It has been meticulously recast in Sterling Silver, using the lost wax casting process from the original 18th century medallion.   Saint Benedict is the founder of the Benedictine Monks who care for Our Lady of Montserrat at Montserrat Mountain.   The Benedictines care for and protect many of the World's Black Madonnas in their monasteries.  This is a Limited Edition Necklace with small number of Sterling Silver medals available. 

The faceted Cathedral beads are shaped like the spires of the Great Cathedrals of Europe  which are the homes  to many of the World's Black Madonnas.  Each bead is hand linked with prayerful intention to renew one’s optimism for life.  Wearing Our Lady of Montserrat calls in the protection of the Black Madonna,  while the medal of Saint Benedict dispels evil and all who are intent engaging it.     

This hand strung strand necklace joins a Sterling Silver connector and toggle clasp. 

Length:  The length is 28" and with the medal and connector 30" long.  It's is available in any length but custom order.  It's a large medal at  1.75 inches and 1.5 inches wide.
