Our hearts are breaking for our artisans and weavers in India. The devastating second wave has destroyed many homes already and still hasn’t peaked as yet. The families affected are not able to get medical attention as hospitals are at capacity and there is a shortage of oxygen and medicines. While most of us are vaccinated here in the US, our partners in India are struggling to breathe. 

We are donating percentage of our profits for the next 30 days to the credited NGO - Give India, we also want to raise money to help the most in need, buy medicines and oxygen for their families. 100% of this workshop profits will go to benefit those through this NGO. Below are the details: 

Workshop date - Jun 19th 2021. The online event will also be recorded and for those not able to attend, can view the recording at their convenience. You will receive the zoom participation link closer to the date. 

Time: 2-4 pm EST 

Workshop overview: A hands on workshop where we will learn the following:

• Basics of natural dyes and how to properly scour and mordant the fabric before dyeing
• Make a bundle dyed scarf together
• How to create different color palettes 
• Kinds of flowers and food waste we can use to bundle dye and how to properly store them for future use
• Post care and maintenance 
• All participants will receive a detailed PDF with instructions on how to scour and mordant the protein and cellulose fibres. It will also have two DIY projects for you to try at home and instructions on how to prepare ahead for the workshop.
• There is also an option to buy a dye kit, prepared by me, containing a pre-mordanted (pre-treated) premium quality silk scarf, premium dry dyestuff like Cochineal and other dye powders, metal salts to shift the colors and dry flowers mix. For those who do not wish to buy the dye-kit, should be able to mordant their fabrics prior to the workshop.
