At this time, Maine was a part of Massachusetts and the northern border would not be settled to its current form until after the Aroostook War in the late 1830s. This handsome map mountains, rivers, towns, roads, harbors, and even includes the White Mountains of New Hampshire, labeled White Hills. Very good restored condition. This map has been cleaned, deacidified, and backed with light-weight paper for structural support. The map suffered paper loss at both right and left sides, which has been professionally restored. Measures approx. 14.5 x 9.75 inches to the neatline.
