Phat Boy mufflers have a distinctive growl, making your engine sound and run fantastic.  They make great horsepower, too.  This design is to be used with EMPI merged header system 00-3699-0 or 00-7320-0.  Note that these systems eliminate the heater boxes, so they cannot be used when heat is desired.  In addition, ground clearance in the rear can be an issue, particularly if the car is lowered, so we would recommend these only for stock height cars in the rear for most instances. Black paint is applied to protect raw steel during transportation and storage.  It will immediately burn off when the engine is started.  If a painted look is desired, we recommend stripping original paint and using a high temperature paint such as that made by VHT.
