Talavera is fired earthenware, individually handcrafted by artisans using methods passed down for centuries. As hand-painted pottery, every piece is unique and the item you receive may vary slightly from the photograph. | To ensure the beauty and longevity of your pottery, please note the following care instructions: 1.) Elevate the planter 1" off the ground or other surface with a planter stand, or planter feet. | 2.) Make certain the drainage hole is clear of debris or other objects that could prevent water flow. Do not allow standing water inside of the planter. | 3.) In climates with freezing temperatures, extra care must be used. Rapid temperature changes and the resulting expansion and contraction of the clay can be damaging. If possible, planters should be moved indoors during freezing conditions. Larger planters may be covered with fabric that is extended to the ground to prevent sudden freezing. | 4.) When cleaning, do not use harsh or abrasive chemicals. Use warm, soapy water and a soft scrubber.
