The NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S lens from Nikon is an ultra-wide zoom lens characterized by its sophisticated optical design and a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8. This design is particularly advantageous for low-light photography when shooting handheld, as it enhances depth of field control. The lens features an advanced optical system that includes four extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements, effectively minimizing various aberrations and distortions to deliver exceptional sharpness and clarity, as well as accurate representation of subjects and point light sources, such as stars. To further enhance image quality, ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coatings, along with a Super Integrated Coating, have been applied to reduce flare, ghosting, and surface reflections, thereby improving contrast and color accuracy.

In addition to its optical excellence, the lens is equipped with a stepping motor that ensures rapid, precise, and quiet autofocus performance, complemented by full-time manual focus override, making it suitable for both still photography and videography. The lens also features a distinctive physical design, including a top OLED information panel for quick verification of aperture and focus settings, as well as an assignable L.Fn button that allows for adjustments to exposure and settings directly from the lens. Two lens hoods are provided with the Z 14-24mm f/2.8, tailored to different shooting requirements: the HB-96 offers a more compact profile, while the HB-97 allows for the attachment of 112mm threaded filters. Furthermore, a programmable control ring is available for intuitive adjustments to various camera and exposure settings.
