ABOUT THIS WINE
A blend of Roussanne (65%), Grenache Blanc (30%), Marsanne (5%), touch of Viognier. This wine is perfumed and powerful. This wine is named after Aliot de Montvin, the glassblower who purchased the property in 1427 and changed its name to La Verrière.
Nicole and Xavier believed that because of the high altitude and protracted ripening season, they should consider planting whites, despite our southern latitude.
The rich fruit concentration and freshness take oak well so they decided to make a vin-de-garde. The vines are 11 years old grown in Argilo-calcaire (clay and limestone) and very stony. The aspect of this vineyard site is north facing at 550m. No synthetic treatments were used. The wine was aged for 8 months in “demi-muids” which are 600-liter capacity oak barrels, typically used in the Rhône Valley.
