In Stock D'aquisto 1967 New Yorker #1021, 9/11/67 With Calton Case Kit [TlDIZLo4]
A gorgeous New Yorker from Jimmy D'Aquisto's period in Huntington, Long Island. His mentor, John D'Angelico, had passed away only 3 years prior, so you can still see some remnants of the more traditional D'Angelico style as is clearly evidenced by the classic New Yorker headstock. (Jimmy did customize it a bit by inlaying the model name on a scroll, as he often continued to do, instead of on the New Yorker Hotel symbol, but both examples use the same Mother of Pearl hotel-shaped style for the truss rod cover.) Jimmy's more modern, signature elements can also already be seen, namely in the pickguard, f-holes and tailpiece.
This guitar is in near-mint condition (slightly tarnished tuning gears) and is a stunning example from one of the greatest archtop builders in history. Serial #1021, completed on Sept. 11th, 1967. Comes with a Calton case.
